Last month we saw the first look, and now it’s here. The all-electric MINI Aceman has finally arrived in the UK, with deliveries set to begin in June this year. Prices for the car start at £31,800 for the Aceman E variant and £36,300 for the Aceman SE variant. The new EV finds a sweet spot between the three-door MINI Cooper and the five-door MINI Countryman.

Design

MINI claims that the Aceman is centered around the idea of “charismatic simplicity.” In terms of design, the car borrows several cues from the Countryman, such as the rhombus-shaped headlights, black A- and B-pillars to create a floating-roof effect, and octagonal grille outlines. It differs in areas like the wheel arches, which are more boxy and pronounced, along with black plastic cladding along the sides and skid plates on the front and rear bumpers.

Interior

Inside, you’ll find a 9.4-inch ultra-thin OLED touchscreen that handles a plethora of functions, from media and navigation to climate control, along with vitals like speed. Below it are the classic toggle switches, one of which is for selecting the driving mode. The Aceman offers eight of them, including Core, Green, Go-Kart, Timeless, and Trail, among others. Each of these modes has its own theme on the display, along with unique soundtracks or ‘Driving Sounds,’ and different patterns.

Features

The Aceman also boasts a commendable list of features. Alongside basics like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the Aceman also offers a virtual assistant named ‘Spike’ that handles various functionalities. The car also features some aesthetically interesting bits like knitted fabric, recycled polyester, and its own vegan-friendly leather replacement, Vescin.

Similar to the Countryman in design elements, the story underneath, however, is different. The Aceman utilizes the same EV-dedicated platform as the electric MINI Cooper, along with the same battery and motor combinations.

Battery

The entry-level Aceman E is powered by a 42.5kWh battery that sends 181bhp and 290Nm of torque to a single electric motor. MINI claims the E variant is capable of hitting the 62mph mark in 7.9 seconds. On a full charge, the Aceman E will return a range of 192 miles.

Meanwhile, the Aceman SE is equipped with a 54.2kWh battery that outputs 215bhp and 330Nm of torque. It reaches 62mph in 7.1 seconds and can travel up to 252 miles on a full charge. Notably, the Aceman E is fitted with a 75kW charger, while the SE model benefits from a 90kW charger.
