Mercedes-AMG has unveiled the new limited-run GT 63 Pro Motorsport Collectors Edition. The company is planning to manufacture 200 units of the car and it should be said that it looks quite enticing…if you’re a brand’s purist.

This is not the first time that AMG has harked back on its popular motorsport cars. Back in 2020, we saw the GT Black Series ‘P One Edition’ which was based on the previous-generation AMG GT. There are bits and pieces carried over from there. For instance, the new GT 63 Pro Motorsport Collectors Edition also comes covered in black F1-style livery as the ever-popular 2020 W11 car.

On the Outside

The base colour of the car is obsidian black metallic with the rear sporting a hand-painted gradient star pattern like the ones we saw on the W15 2024 car. With Petronas being the main sponsor since Mercedes’ entry into the sport in 2010, the brand’s bright blue colour scheme can be seen around the windows, plus on the front splitter, side air intakes, side skirts, brake callipers, rear diffuser and 21-inch forged wheels.

Another major difference comes in the form of the carbon fibre package which comes as standard integrating into the front splitter, sills, diffuser and rear wing. The list of standard equipment is longer too. The Motorsport Collectors Edition gets a panoramic glass roof, an AMG Night Package with black chrome in the radiator grille, and blacked-out badging without paying extra.

On the Inside

On the inside, the Petronas shades are used in the stitching of the seats, armrests, and doors. The seats are covered in black Nappa leather and the centre console carries the ‘1 out of 200’ emblem. The car also gets an updated sound system from Burmester, a 360-degree camera, a driver assistance package and an HUD.

Engine

At its heart, the car still carries the unchanged 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 putting out 603bhp and 850Nm of torque through a nine-speed automatic transmission. The power gets sent to all wheels making the car capable of hitting 62mph from stand still in 3.2 seconds. Mercedes-AMG has not revealed the price tag on the car, but we expect something significantly north of the $180,905 tag on Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ Launch Edition.
